Week 9 Term 2. Colour & Contrast

For Sydney classes this week our sketch artist was the enthusiastic Travel Sketcher/Designer/Urban Sketcher Marina Grechanik from Jaffa, Israel.
One of her on-location techniques is paint first, black line later. As you can see, the result is loose, blocky and strong. She uses a lot of white space to give contrast and simplicity.

By now you’ll be very used to moving out of your comfort zone and trying something which feels a bit dangerous. The best part is not knowing what will happen!! Exactly what we want. Taking risks and being a little uncertain is one of the best ways to make real progress. I could even get really profound and say that it’s a life lesson.
