Sketching in Changeable Times

Sketching in all weather at Woods Cafe

I’m beginning to think that everything we’ve been though in the last 2 years has begun to make me think differently.
Excuse me getting a bit philosophical here, but I think it’s been a good thing.

First trigger has been weather.
There are actually two issues but weather affects our daily lives.

When you’re running Sketch classes, Tours and the Urban Sketchers group I’m part of, making weather decisions is huge. Lots of ‘what if’s’ occur and I need the right outcome.

More extreme and sudden changes are happening. A bit like life in general.

Last night for instance we were celebrating still being on the planet with friends and neighbours. It was a beautiful warm and balmy evening. Within an hour we had a tornado.
That’s what I mean and that’s life right now.

The other trigger is Covid. I’ve learn a lot about keeping upbeat through that. You can very easily go the other way. It’s taught me that I want to live and learn and share - and support others though sketching. That’s my mission and it keeps me positive.

So I’m going out into the world again and all my Sketching Tours will go ahead in 2022. Rain or not.

This was very deep and meaningful I’m afraid!!
