Sketching For Drought, Fire and Floods
with Erin Hill
Saturday February 22nd, Sunday February 23rd, Monday February 24th 2020
The best way we can support business in small towns by simply being there.
This is a great opportunity to spend a long weekend in a town which has been affected - like all of us in one way or another - and show that we are very excited to be sketching there, staying there and spending a little in as many local businesses as we can.
WORKSHOP THEME:
Where’s the Focus. Where’s the Interest
Whether you have sketched with us before or not, getting the focus of the sketch is vital.
It’s about taking our eye to where you’d like us to look, and we have lots of tricks to achieve that.
With all our subjects, whether it’s our first coffee of the day, or a street scene, creating interest is what we’ll be looking for. Essentially this is composition and is what makes a sketch come together.
Lots of ways to do this and you’ll love it.
Each morning we’ll have a warm up sketch/still life then off to a location to try our skills.
Applying colour is a big part of ‘focus’ so we’ll be working on that too.
