Technique: Preparing coloured backgrounds using watercolours, paint & salt, old magazines, maps or book pages, music sheets etc to create textured backgrounds for cafe sketches which capture mood & drama. Sketch with pens of varying line weights. Extra watercolour for emphasis where needed.

Workshops in Languedoc
Like most of Europe, we’ve had double heat waves here in Languedoc. One can find a tiny zephyr of a breeze under a tree at times. Sketchers do cope wherever we are if a sketch is needed. Here you’ll see a vineyard landscape in direct watercolour. A warmup of same in two colours to establish values. A private lesson with a student at Bar Fontaine. A sketch of Chateau Remaury in b/w and colour. This all helps you get to know the absolutely marvellous subjects here. Come and join us sketch your own story here.

Travel Sketch Workshops New York

UpComing Travel Sketch Workshops in Central Park are coming up in September ‘19.

I’m returning after the Campania Italy Sketch Holiday and before the New Zealand and Fiji sojourns to do 4 full day Workshops between Sept 15th and 18th. Starting on Sunday Sept 15th, 16th 17th and last one 18th.
