Rock n Roll and Autumn Scenes
We sketchers never quite know what’s round the corner!
Just when you think you have the week worked out - bam - a cold front blasts it’s way across the country. Where did that come from!!
We were have balmy warm days, blue skies, bees buzzing - and now this!!
Snow in places where they never see it, cars buried, people snowed in. The lot.
Then flooding in some towns after a violent storm.
Even in Kingscliff where we have very mild Autumn / Winter seasons - very chilly winds. Blue days and lovely if you’re sheltered, but get your woolies out everyone.
Sydney had it’s coldest day in 37 years! Whaaaaat.
Tammy’s new’ Intro to Travel Sketching’ class started exactly that day. I’m amazed they could hold their pens long enough to complete their first sketches! True sketchers already.
Bangalow rained so our ‘Water & Reflections’ class was inside our cafe, and instead became a technique lesson based on a previous sketch. Warm and cosy inside and everyone happy.
Coolongatta where I was with Urban Sketchers today was beautiful. Tiny cool wind but that’s all. Blue skies and the sounds of rock music belting it out. People really dress the part and so many gorgeous frocks with billowing petticoats wandering about as if in another era. Plus the dozens of immaculate vintage cars lining
the streets.
So much sketching choice. I did manage to compose a composition with what I could see in front of me. Think it works.
