Clouds Skies & Sketch Journaling
I’ve always used clouds as part of my composition. Plus a seagull or two. This is part of a print from a 2010 painting done in Fairlight, Sydney.

This week we’ve had a lovely Bundanoon Southern Highlands Workshop - not to be confused with Bangalow!! And no one ate the Tim Tams. Wot!!
Gaye had her sketchers working on ideas for their sketch journals. That means absolutely any subject around you counts. Inside or out, whatever catches your eye and makes a memory. Including Tim Tams.
Bangalow Workshop this week actually took place in Kingscliff - just to complicate things! Not that it matters really as we were doing clouds and skies. But looking up we couldn’t help but notice - not a cloud in that blue sky to be seen!
Oh well, I may as well reveal the secret of our clouds. We make them up. We design our own clouds. Shocking don’t you think. No not at all. Because we’ve spent a lot of time since childhood looking up at clouds.
That way we can have any kind of cloud we feel like and pop it into the sketch.
