Back to Sketch Classes Rain or Shine
BANGALOW NSW. Week 1.
The first Wednesday of our 6 week Travel Sketching Course.
Our students were very happy to be inside this lovely old heritage building with it’s big spacious cafe, and out of the downpours between sunshine!
Red Hibiscus in the Danish design blue jug. A very lovely first subject and very happy results.
More experienced sketchers added a background of their choice, while newer sketchers had a go at the big bottlebrush tree we could see from inside.
Another still life of their own choice followed for senior sketchers. A very enjoyable first day together.
WEEKLY SKETCH WORKSHOP KINGSCLIFF NSW.
’What Colour is green’
This was all about finding the colours we see in differing trees. Norfolk pines are quite dark. Maleleuca trees are feathery and lighter. Olives and Lavender are smoky blue. Pandanus are yellowy greens.
Coffee and tea to start and we created a page full off swatches to see what happens with layered colours.
In our comfortable beach chairs we sketched 3 different trees and loosely applied colour to get the changes.
Some new discoveries and loads of laughs.
See you next week for ‘What Colour is Water’
