So Many Ways to Be a Sketcher
You could be on the edge of the bay….
The best thing about being a sketcher? The places it takes you.
That sketchbook and pen transports you - to anywhere - real or imagined.
You could be in a park under a tree, on an island looking back, under a gazebo, on a bridge, in a great cafe, down by the wharf, at the beach, in a cosy studio, on a street corner and oh so many more locations.
Meanwhile we can’t travel to overseas places but we certainly can in our own neighbourhood.
This week you’ll see our sketchers in most of the places above - and loving it.
Tuesday Gold Coast - sketching vistas, rocks and water, looking for the main focus and bringing in the elements you want, and leaving out peripheral extras. In other words, take the scene in front of you and pull it around to suit yourself.
French Picnic Sketch Workshop, Kingscliff -this was supposed to be a shocking day for storms. But imagine our surprise when the day was blue warm and balmy. Perfect for us in the park, beginning with our morning tea and later our French lunch all provided by our butler Maurice. A lot of sketching, chatting, and laughter took place - and a glass or two of rose. Heaven.
Family Sketch Workshop Bowral - 3 generations of family organised to have a 3 hour Workshop while holidaying and celebrating a rare chance to be together. They absolutely loved it and each one has a lovely memory of the day in their sketchbooks.
Friday Moss Vale - It was all nature and organics today. A few sketchers missing but it didn’t stop anyone enjoying colour and shape. Fruit is definitely an enjoyable subject. Trailing nasturtiums were another lovely subject which always make great gift cards when you need them.
Saturday Mosman - It was boats and water, clouds and weather for this group. Down to the bay at Mosman where the lovely old Mosman ferry comes and goes, and there’s are also a huge selection of yachts moored. Luxury or bareboat - take your choice.
Do join us to see what our sketchers have been up to this week.
New classes start in Kingscliff and Gold Coast next week and the one after.
