SKETCHING IN NATICK WITH ERIN
Hi, Erin here and I’ll be back in Natick again in August/September 2025 - visiting our family in Natick.
This will be the 4th year I’ll be giving my ‘SundayTravel Sketch Workshops’ and ‘6 Week Sketch Classes’ in Natick.
You’ll learn to see what’s around you and get your own impression in a sketch book. Great if you’re a traveler, or even around your own garden. Your sketch is your journey and it will bring back that memory whenever you see it again.
A very big thank you to Denise Girardin, Kim Dwelley and Jane-Ellen Frazier Newman for their encouragement and support in creating these Workshops and Classes.
2025

INTRO TO TRAVEL SKETCHING CLASSES

Time:10.00am - 1.00pm
Cost: $400pp for 6 weeks
Casual: 75pp per class
When: August and September
I’ll let you know exactly where to meet each week closer to the time.
1. Seeing things differently
2. Simple Architecture
3. People in action
4. Street or Cafe scenes
5. Flowers and foliage
6.Vignettes - small sketches telling a story.
If you’ve not sketched before, then this is your opportunity to learn.
If you’re already enjoying art, you may like to try quick sketching and learn something different.
No experience needed however and you’ll begin to see what’s around you and quickly sketch your own impression.
No photos required. Just what you see with your own eyes,
Huge fun and very rewarding, particularly if you like to travel, or even if you don’t. Everywhere you look is a sketch. You just havent seen it that way before.
Yes you can Sketch!
Believe it or not, sketching isn’t about talent! It’s about seeing!
Workshops or Classes - I’ll show you how we observe what’s in front of us, by looking and observing our subject,
and getting those shapes into our sketchbooks.
No pencils to start, just a black pen and a willingness to ‘let go’ and put lines on a page.
You’ll soon see it coming together in your own style (yes you have one.)
We sketch outside on location and not from photos or reference.
It’s about having fun and enjoying whatever ends up on your page. Wibbly wobbly is fine.
I’ll be demonstrating every step of the way.
