This is a foundation lesson as I do in class
showing how I layer colours using Aquarelle pencils.
You only need a very minimal sketch kit for this class, and be keen to spread your wings.
In this foundation class and I’ll show you how we look at everything as simple shapes, and how I layer the colours to get light and dark.
Then you can set up one of your own and follow the same steps.
By taking the time to observe and learn my techniques, you’ll soon see how it applies to more complex subjects with ease.

Sketch Kit you’ll need.
*Any size sketchbook with flat white paper - not textured. 125gm is fine.
*Black waterproof pen. (No lead pencil needed)
*Set of 12 Staedtler Noris Club Aquarelle pencils.
(If you have a different brand be sure it has Yellow Ochre, one of our important colours.
