ITINERARY

We will be taken on a personalised, guided tour of the Barossa Valley over the 3 days, going to different sketch locations every day.
The fact that we will sketch, eat, drink, and laugh all weekend goes without saying!

Thursday 24th October
Arrival day for those traveling interstate. Bus transfer to the Barossa Valley will leave the airport at 3pm.
Everyone is welcome to join us at a local restaurant for dinner that night, and to meet our fellow Sketchers.

Friday 25th October
A visit to Tanunda in the morning, with time to grab a coffee, sketch some gorgeous old buildings, soak in the atmosphere, and maybe buy that special little something in a local shop.
In the afternoon, we will be taken to Maggie Beers Farm & Café for a fabulous lunch, followed by more sketching.
At Maggie Beers we can wander around Turtle Lake, walk the Farm Walk, or out with the peacocks!
It’s a glorious place to unwind and breathe in that fresh air.
Our bus will then return us to Angaston in the late afternoon.

Saturday 26th October
We’ll be spending several hours at Seppeltsfield Winery.
If time permits, we may get to stop on the way for a quick sketch of St Michaels Church,
then at the winery itself there are several sketching opportunities with spectacular old brick buildings and the vineyard itself with its rows of vines and rolling hills.

After a delicious lunch in the winery there will be time to browse the onsite galleries, the Jam Factory & Dragon Fine Art. Once again, our bus will deliver us back to Angaston in the late afternoon.

For those that wish, we can re-group on Friday & Saturday night, to have dinner together at recommended local restaurants or pubs.

Sunday 27th October,
We will sketch in Angaston this morning till lunchtime.
Some of our group will leave us after lunch to return to Adelaide Airport for flights home.
The quaint character of Angaston will encourage our sketching skills and will surely cap off our wonderful weekend in the Barossa Valley.

Those who do not need to be dropped at the airport this afternoon have the option of an organised cheese tasting and perhaps drink one last glass of wine with friends.
We will farewell our new found sketching friends and look forward to meeting again soon.

SKETCH KIT:
You will only need the colours that Erin Hill uses, or similar.
https://erinhillsketching.com/the-sketch-kit
Any size sketch book you like – but I recommend following Erin’s suggestions in the sketch kit link above.
We don’t need many sketch materials to create a loose, fun, bright sketch of the places that we see.
