We’re taking a Private Sketch Tour to Turkey - for up to four people.
We’ve loved our previous tours so much we’ve decided to do another. Wondering if you’d like to join us.
We’ll spend 5 nights in exotic Istanbul, and 5 nights in the historic coastal region of Izmir.

Erin and Milton will be the hosts for this tour.
Having been in Turkey a number of times we know and love the place to bits.
And so do our sketchers. Because of repeat requests we’ll visit Turkey again in June 2023
Perfect for sketchers who like a small friendly group - with lots of individual learning opportunities - and fun as we explore this fascinating part of the world.
We’re also very happy to stay in one place for a few days, feel at home,
and take day trips with our favourite guide, charming and knowledgeable Irene.

DAILY ITINERARY
We like to be flexible with our itinerary, and this is what we plan so far.
Day 1. June 3
Arrival into Istanbul and arrival at our hotel. It’s an ideal spot to base our tour of spectacular historical sights.
Get together for dinner and chat about what’s ahead.
Day 2. June 4
Breakfast on the roof terrace, visit to the Blue Mosque and nearby Hagia Sophia and ancient Roman Cisterns
Light lunch. Time for sketching in the vicinity. Dinner locally.
Day 3. June 5
Visit Topkapi Palace, including the Sultan’s Harem and ornate reception halls, with its incredible history.
Light lunch.Plenty of opportunity to be inspired to sketch. Dinner locally.
Day 4. June 6
Visit the fabled Grand Bazaar with its intricate covered lanes, tempting textile & jewellery shops.
Lunch with views of the Golden Horn, then through the Spice Market to fascinating nearby art & creative shops
Day 5. June 7
Free day for your own exploring nearby streets and cafes for sketching moments.
Dinner locally.
Day 6. June 8
Transfer to airport for flight to Izmir. Arrive in Selcuk at our Hotel. Light Lunch.
Walk to St Jean’s Baslica to experience the history and sketch. Dinner locally.
Day 7. June 9
Visit to local markets which is definitely non touristy and is fascinating.
You’ll find beautiful hand made articles at great prices. Lunch locally. Dinner locally.
Day 8. June 10
Travel to Eskidoganbey, formally an old Greek village, lunch at Karina Beach. We are invited to visit an amazing costume museum not open to the public.
300 year old Greek houses being restored, excellent cafe and lunch by the water. Dinner locally.
Day 9. June11
Visit to the ancient city of Ephesus, very near Selcuk. Lunch at the Seven Sleepers Grotto.
Wander in the town to sketch. Dinner locally
Day 10. June12
Morning tea along a shady picturesque river for sketching.
Visit to mountains and gorgeous long established cafe overlooking the valley. Dinner locally
Day 11. June 13
Transfer to Izmir airport for flight to Istanbul.
