Sketching For Drought, Fire and Floods

The best way we can support business in small towns by simply being there.
This particular Workshop is the long time suggestion of Nicole, one of our passionate students who would come from Forbes every week for her sketch lesson in Manly. 5 1/2 hours each way! She has been keen for a very long time for us to visit and stay in Forbes, gather some of her friends together and sketch some of the wonderful historical architecture and scenery.
No experience needed just a desire to sketch in a country town which has been so affected by drought.
This is our chance to visit Nicole and sketch with her.
WORKSHOP THEME:
Where’s the Focus. Where’s the Interest
Whether you have sketched with us before or not, getting the focus of the sketch is vital.
It’s about taking our eye to where you’d like us to look, and we have lots of tricks to achieve that.
With all our subjects, whether it’s our first coffee of the day, or a street scene, creating interest is what we’ll be looking for. Essentially this is composition and is what makes a sketch come together.
Lots of ways to do this and you’ll love it.
Each morning we’ll have a warm up sketch/still life then off to a location to try our skills.
Applying colour is a big part of ‘focus’ so we’ll be working on that too.
