We’ll be sketching in and around the magnificent Gold Coast region
with it’s famous surf beaches, national parks, cool cafes and serene mountain scenes

Explore Gold Coast and sketch in even more places you have never discovered before.

Now that you’ve learned the foundations of Erin Hill Sketching with Tricia,
you can spread your wings and sketch in so many more places than you realised.

We’ll meet in different locations each week and you’ll be advised before each class.
We explore so much more of this lovely part of Queensland, sketching scenes of people places and views.

This is for anyone who’d love to learn to travel sketch in our 6week course.
Learn our simple step by step approach to observation, sketching and colour skills.
We use watercolour as one of our mediums and watercolour pencils as a cheerful and convenient option.
Often we use both mediums together for extra impact.
Different plein air subjects each week, with our friendly group.
Students say it’s very meditative and calming.
Tricia will take you through the steps to quick sketching and guide you with new ideas
and techniques for colour applications.

You’ll need our custom Sketch Kit which pops into your bag and is ready when you are.

I don’t have a creative bone in my body!

I’m serious! 😊
And yet I’m about to become a Sketch Tutor!

Not being a talented, long-standing artist is my “Superpower.”
I was lucky enough to learn from the best – Erin Hill – and I am living proof that following Erin’s step by step process in creating a sketch that you can feel happy about, is, in fact, possible.
I can promise you that. If I can sketch it, anyone can!

In 2022 I was looking for a trip overseas that I could do.
Because I was traveling alone, I chose to do a trip to a destination where I could meet up with a group of likeminded people so that I could have company on my travels and get to experience something I had not done before.
That is how I found Erin Hill Sketching Tours.

I liked Erin’s relaxed style of sketching, her gentle manner while instructing students (as seen on her videos) and she had an upcoming trip to Sicily which was on my bucket list.
So, I set off on an adventure to learn to sketch with Erin, and to drink wine and eat pizza with a group of delightful people while we explored the stunning scenery in Sicily.

That is how I became hooked on sketching.

What I love about Travel Sketching is that you are capturing a moment in time – a feeling – a memory.
You can produce something a little more personal than a photograph and it makes you slow down,
appreciate the moment, and to have fun with it.
Oh, and the colours we use are gorgeous too! Our sketches are light, bright, and happy.

You will feel uplifted as you are creating them. It’s just fun!

I will show you how to create your own sketches through Erin’s step by step classes. They are easy to follow.

I will take you to interesting, enjoyable places to create our sketches – to colourful cafés with flowers on the food, little wooden chapels, interesting architecture, gardens, rivers, beaches and many more places.
Our sketching sites will all be on the Gold Coast from the beach to the hinterland, and you will be notified each week where we are to meet and what we will sketch.

So, if you are looking for a mindfulness hobby, for some “me time,” if you want to meet a nice group of people and spend an enjoyable few hours each week sketching, then join us on our course.
