Cathédrale Saint-Fulcran in Lodève France. Magnificent 6th century monastery which a group of us from USK Languedoc sketched yesterday.
It actually rained so was much cooler than our previous hot hot days. Lovely town with its rivers and waterways, beautiful doorways and alleyways. Well worth a visit. Slide to see more.

Day 3 of of Paris Workshops and what a huge range of subjects we covered. A last minute cafe sketch yesterday was a great way to sketch within a time frame. Today was about eye level perspective with those gorgeous classic French apartment buildings. Everyone began to see what was above and below eye level. Such great sketches. Plus food sketching. Best way to remember the shapes and colours on your plate. Fabulous everyone and Thankyou for being such ‘give it a go’ students. More next week in South of France. Slide to see more.

Sketching in Cuba. A very effective way to sketch the essence of a place is to use precoloured paper. Sketch in black line over the top. Pop it with added watercolour and add some white Posca Pen highlights.
Try this technique yourself. I’ve got other tips and techniques to show you on our Sketch Cuba tour in April.
How fast but at the same time how slow can a week on board a cruise ship pass.
We are back in Nadi at the Westin Denarau till we all go our different ways.
By now most of our 86 guests have enough sketching skills under their belts till I’m with them again next year in San Francisco.
We’ve been to the best diving/sketching locations in Fiji and mixed it with the beautiful locals.
It’s been an incredible week and the crédit goes to Janet Heineken from St Francis Yacht Club, for giving the guests the opportunity to learn Travel Sketching, and her impeccable organizing skills. And to her husband Paul, the Commodore of the club.
Captain Ian Davison was utterly charming while managing that very large ship into some fascinating diving sites/sketch sites, and the marvelous crew who never stopped smiling singing and dancing.
For me working with Rusiate Lali, Fiji’s top contemporary artist who was also onboard for the week was an enormous pleasure.
His creations are an absolute delight and we’ll remain in touch.
