notes from our latest classes

Here we are at the end of Term and the weeks have definitely flown by very quickly. I’m looking forward to a break doing lots of sketching myself in some warm weather at Palm Cove.

Wednesday Intro Sketchers
An enthusiastic group keen to do as much sketching for their last class of Term 2. Our warm up for “Everyday shapes” was a very interesting spice rack which everyone enjoyed sketching. We then had lots of laughs as we sketched a bicycle from memory ??

Off out and about and we found a bicycle rack of lovely blue bikes and a cute Vespa that was quickly added to our sketch books as well. Some local people, cakes and nearby buildings were all sketched while at “Pricilla Jones Cafe”.

A warm sunny winter afternoon for some fun sketching.

Thursday General Sketchers

Lots of Sketchers already headed overseas to continue their sketching journals. We were a smaller very motivated group eager to be inspired by another of our ‘ Permission to steal‘ series we’ve enjoyed all Term.

Lots of experimenting with coloured drawing paper , gel pens ,oil pastels and watercolour paints.Amazing what ordinary everyday things can be sketched with great results.

Everyone enjoyed just trying new techniques to compliment their sketching. We finished the class with a lovely chat and afternoon tea in the Garden studio.
