Moon Rising

Moon Rising

Moon Rising

While the sea is as rough as it is today, windswept and mono- colour, it’s hard to imagine the glorious night when this view inspired me to paint it.

This is my third painting of the balmy night when the moon was full, hanging over the harbour and the glittering reflections coming across to where I was. So so beautiful.

This is a 24 X 18 canvas, acrylic paint worked in to get the depth of colour, the multi reflections and the sparkling lights on the hill.

I’m pleased I’ve put in the Palm Trees, because it has the tropical feel I wanted, but which sure isn’t there right now.

There really is something about moonlight. It does take you to some place else. There is a face up there, and I’m sure it’s made of cheese.
