Waves on Rocks II

Waves on Rocks 2

Waves on Rocks 2

Ok so it wasn’t finished. Today when I saw it again, I had my coffee and sat for a while observing. I usually know pretty quickly what to do, so spent a few more hours getting it right.

A new point of interest is the black shag drying it’s wings. I hadn’t wanted anything fiddly in this painting as I wanted very soft edges and no sharp bits. But every sunny day the sea birds are there on the edge of these rocks, hanging out their wings to dry. Somehow I felt it needed this little event.

I’ve since signed the work, so it has to be done now.
